The White House reports having appointed former California Dir. of Finance Ana Matosantos to a new Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico. Matosantos, who was born and raised in Santurce, Puerto Rico, joins six others on the board which was formed by federal legislation to restructure Puerto Rico’s debts and manage its economic recovery. Matosantos has been working as a consultant since leaving state employment in 2013. She served as Finance Director in the Schwarzenegger and Brown administrations. She also worked as an assistant secretary for the Health and Human Services Agency and as a consultant to the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
