The office of Asm. David Chiu reports Erin Baum will succeed Judson True as chief of staff in January when True leaves to work for San Francisco Mayor London Breed. Baum has been Chiu’s legislative director for two years, and before that, she worked in the same role for former Asm. Das Williams. Senior legislative aide Riana King will succeed Baum as legislative director. King has worked in the office for three years and was an Assembly Fellow for Chiu. The office has also hired Nicole Restmeyer as legislative aide. She started the job Dec. 3. Restmeyer previously worked for the Speaker’s Office of Research and Floor Analysis for a year, and was at Lucas Public Affairs before that. And, Severiano “Seve” Christian has joined the office as an Assembly Fellow. Christian graduated from Chico State with a double major in comparative religion and multicultural and gender studies.
