Lobbying firm Capitol Strategies Group reports hiring Kirk Kimmelshue as a lobbyist. Kimmelshue, who started April 1, was chief of staff for Asm. Frank Bigelow since 2012 and political director for the California Trailblazers since 2015. Before joining Bigelow’s office, Kimmelshue worked on his 2012 Assembly campaign and before that he was in Washington DC working for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Assn. Bigelow’s office has also announced promoting Katie Masingale to chief of staff to succeed Kimmelshue. Masingale was previously Bigelow’s legislative director for four years and also worked for former Asm. Diane Harkey. The office has hired Jennifer Hodgkins to succeed Masingale as legislative director. Hodgkins previously worked for Asm. Kevin Kiley and for former Asm. Ling Ling Chang.
