The office of Asm. Richard Bloom has announced Bloom’s chief of staff, Sean MacNeil, is departing for a new job. He’ll be working for California Community Choice Aggregation (CalCCA), which promotes local alternatives to investor-owned utilities, to launch the advocacy organization’s operations in Sacramento. MacNeil has been Bloom’s chief of staff for the past six years and has worked for the legislature since 1998 for former Asms. Helen ThomsonNoreen Evans and Michael Allen, and former legislator Patricia Wiggins in the Assembly and Senate. Legislative director Guy Strahl will succeed MacNeil as chief of staff. Strahl has also worked for Bloom for six years. Bloom invites members and staff for a farewell reception today at 4 p.m., Rm. 2003.
