The California State Parks Foundation, “a member-supported nonprofit dedicated to protecting, improving and advocating for all of California’s state parks,” has announced appointing Rachel Norton as its new executive director. Norton had worked for the San Francisco Parks Alliance since 2013, departing as its chief executive officer. She has also served as an elected commissioner on San Francisco’s Board of Education since 2009. Norton succeeds Elizabeth Goldstein, who had led the organization for the past 12 years until going back to her home state of New York, where she is now president of the Municipal Arts Society in New York City.
