A light snowfall created a whimsical setting for the wedding of Tamara Torlakson, founder of Torlakson Events, and Mark Oamek, a pharmacist at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento, which was held in Lake Tahoe on November 4. The couple invited just their immediate families, which included Tamara’s father, Supt. of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, to a small house in Tahoe Vista on the North Shore they had rented for the intimate ceremony. The bride says her now brother-in-law served as the officiant, and her nephew read aloud “Your Personal Penguin,” a children’s book that Tamara says was appropriate for the day, given the cool and snowy weather. Tamara and Mark enjoyed celebrating their big day with their son, six-month-old Milo, whose formal attire included a navy blue checkered bow tie with matching vest and pants.
